Full recipe:
Ingredients:
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 onion, chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 cup beef broth
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon dried thyme
-
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
-
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Directions:
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
-
Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
-
Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
-
Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Cut each crust into 4 even circles (you should have 8 circles in total).
-
Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each pie circle, then fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
-
Brush the tops of the hand pies with the beaten egg.
-
Arrange the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
