How to Make Baked Turnip Fries with Dip
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Wash, peel, and trim your turnips, then slice them into uniform fry-shaped sticks, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Toss the turnip sticks in a bowl with olive oil until lightly coated for a golden-brown finish.
  4. Mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl. Sprinkle over turnips and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange seasoned turnip fries in a single layer on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. While the fries are baking, combine Greek yogurt, chives, dill, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Keep an eye on the fries; they should be golden brown and crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside.

Notes

For maximum crispiness, avoid overcrowding the fries on the baking sheet. You can soak cut turnips in water for 30 minutes before baking for a better texture.
