Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 3–4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the long-grain rice, whole milk, and broth, then season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in two-thirds of the shredded cheese. Stir until fully melted.
  6. Spread the rice mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let the dish rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
