  • 4 pieces Chicken (legs or thighs) Juicy and flavorful.
For the Aromatics
  • 1 medium Onion Sautéed.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
For the Cooking Base
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
For the Sweetness and Texture
  • 1 cup Dried Apricots or Prunes Can be mixed.
  • 1/2 cup Toasted Almond Slivers
For Garnishing
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley or Cilantro Chopped.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Rinse the chicken pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Sear the chicken in the skillet, cooking for about 5 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Deglaze the pan with fresh lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and dried fruits. Simmer gently, stirring occasionally.
  7. Cover and reduce the heat. Cook on low for 40 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  8. Stir in the toasted almond slivers and cook uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving.
