  • 1 package Ritz Crackers Substitute with gluten-free crackers for a gluten-free version.
For the Caramel Sauce
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter Use vegan butter for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Light brown sugar is preferable.
  • 0.5 cup Light Corn Syrup Replace with maple syrup or agave for a vegan alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Do not substitute for best flavor.
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts Alternatives include almonds, pecans, or cashews.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter over medium heat, being careful not to brown it.
  3. Add 1 cup of brown sugar and ½ cup of light corn syrup to the melted butter. Stir continuously until gently boiling, then let boil for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Spoon about one tablespoon of the hot caramel onto each Ritz cracker.
  6. While the caramel is warm, sprinkle chopped salted peanuts on top.
  7. Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet for about 15-20 minutes.
