Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by the beef mixture and cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
- In a mixing bowl, combine condensed cheddar soup, evaporated milk, milk, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Pour the sauce evenly over layered ingredients in the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool for several minutes before serving.
