  • 8 ounces Mozzarella Cheese (fresh, cut into slices) Consider feta cheese for a tangier flavor.

How to Make Shakshuka Recipe
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in the marinara sauce, followed by the chopped basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  6. Gently crack the eggs into the skillet over the bubbling sauce.
  7. Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with more fresh basil and serve immediately.
