Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can be replaced with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning Enhances flavor; store-bought or homemade.
For the Dough
  • 1 pound Pizza Dough Store-bought or homemade.
For the Cheesy Goodness
  • 2 cups Mexican Cheese Blend Substitute with cheddar or Monterey Jack as desired.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Can be replaced with melted butter.
For Dipping
  • 1 cup Salsa Any preferred dipping sauce can be used.
  • 1 cup Guacamole Hummus or sour cream work as alternatives.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in a pan over medium heat until transparent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and taco seasoning to the pan. Cook until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425˚F (220˚C). Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface until about ½ inch thick.
  4. Cut the dough into 5 strips. Place spoonfuls of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese at the center of each strip.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling, sealing the edges. Brush the tops with olive oil.
  6. Bake on a baking sheet for 10 minutes, add more cheese on top, then bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving with salsa and guacamole.
