Ingredients

Batter Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Feel free to substitute with gluten-free flour if needed.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Consider using coconut sugar for a healthier twist.
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder Make sure it's fresh for the best results.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt You can reduce it if you're on a low-sodium diet.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Opt for Ceylon cinnamon for a milder touch.
  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk Swap it for almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter (melted) Use vegetable oil for a lighter option.
  • 1 Large Egg Substitute with a flax egg for a vegan version.
Coating Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Sugar (for coating) Adjust the amount based on your preference for sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon (for coating) You can add a hint of nutmeg for extra warmth.

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • whisk
  • Donut Cutter
  • Baking Sheet

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This step is essential for achieving that perfect golden-brown finish on your donuts!
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Stir until well blended for a consistent flavor.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, melted butter, and egg until fully combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. A few lumps are perfectly fine for fluffy donuts.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter to cut out shapes.
  6. Place the shaped donuts onto a greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  7. In a shallow dish, mix together sugar and additional ground cinnamon for coating.
  8. Right out of the oven, coat each donut in the cinnamon sugar mixture while they're still warm.
