  • 1/2 tsp Salt Maldon preferred.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Adjust to preference.
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg Beaten with 2 tsp water.
For the Garnish
  • 3 tbsp Black Sesame Seeds Can be swapped with poppy seeds.

How to Make Classic Irish Stew Pie
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Drain the Irish stew through a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.
  3. Whisk together the egg with water and mix salt, pepper, and garlic powder in another bowl.
  4. Lightly spray pie tins with canola oil. Let puff pastry soften at room temperature.
  5. Cut puff pastry into circles for bases and lids, placing the base circles into the tins.
  6. Fill each tin halfway with the drained stew and brush pastry edges with egg wash to seal.
  7. Place pastry lids on top of filled tins and crimp edges securely with a fork.
  8. Brush tops with egg wash, sprinkle black sesame seeds, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  9. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
