How to Make Buttermilk Fried Pork Chops
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, then completely submerge them in buttermilk. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight, allowing the flavors to infuse.
- In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove the pork chops from the buttermilk, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each chop in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it adheres well. Let them set for a few minutes.
- Heat cooking oil in a frying pan to 350°F. Carefully fry 2-3 chops at a time for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Once fried, remove the chops from the oil and place them on wire racks to drain. Season with a sprinkle of salt and pepper while they’re hot.
