  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese or string cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese omit for milder taste
  • 1 large Eggs or egg substitute
For the Coating
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour or gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning or a mix of dried herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
For Cooking
  • as needed Oil Spray or Oil for Frying olive oil or canola oil preferred

Method
 

How to Make Crispy Cottage Mozzarella Bites
  1. Drain the cottage cheese thoroughly using a fine mesh strainer.
  2. Mix the cheese mixture in a bowl by combining the drained cottage cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, one beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Prepare a dredging station with flour mixed with seasoning, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning.
  5. Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Coat each ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Cook them in air fryer at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes, bake at 425°F for 12 to 15 minutes, or pan-fry until golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
