How to Make Crispy Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Stacks
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.
- Cut each pastry sheet into four equal squares.
- Whisk together the beaten egg and milk in a bowl to create an egg wash.
- Build each pastry square by placing a slice of ham followed by cheese.
- Season your stacks lightly with salt and pepper and add fresh herbs if using.
- Top each filled square with another pastry square and seal the edges.
- Brush the tops of each stack with the egg wash.
- Arrange your stacks on the baking sheet, ensuring enough space between them.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Cool slightly before serving.
