Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Prepare the Brussels sprouts by trimming the stems and discarding any discolored or damaged leaves. Keep the smaller sprouts whole and halve the larger ones.
  3. Toss the Brussels sprouts in a mixing bowl with olive oil, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer, cut side down, and roast for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Flip the Brussels sprouts carefully with a spatula and continue roasting for another 10-15 minutes, until crispy.
  6. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, then transfer to paper towels to drain.
  7. Combine the roasted Brussels sprouts with the crispy bacon and a squeeze of lemon juice in a serving bowl. Toss and add Parmesan cheese if desired.
