How to Make Crispy Smashed Potato Salad
  1. Cook the Potatoes: Begin by boiling the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
  2. Smash the Potatoes: Gently smash each potato until they are about 1/4 to 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Air Fry: Arrange smashed potatoes in the air fryer, spray with oil, season to taste, and air fry at 375°F for about 15 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  4. Prepare Salad: While potatoes fry, chop romaine lettuce, pickles, and red onions.
  5. Make the Dressing: Whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  6. Combine: Toss half of the crispy potatoes with salad ingredients and dressing, then top with remaining crispy potatoes.
