Cake Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a round cake pan.
- Combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes; then flip onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Poke holes in the top of the cooled cake and drizzle with salted caramel sauce.
- Spread whipped topping over the cooled cake and sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
- Slice and serve immediately.
