How to Make Berry Trifle
  1. Slice angel food cake into 3/4-inch thick slices to create a sturdy base for your trifle layers.
  2. Mix lemon juice, lemon zest, and honey in a small bowl until combined. Brush this zesty mixture over both sides of the cake slices.
  3. Cut the brushed cake into 3/4-inch cubes to prepare for layering.
  4. Whip heavy cream in a mixing bowl until stiff peaks form.
  5. Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla in another bowl until fluffy.
  6. Fold the whipped cream gently into the cream cheese mixture until just incorporated.
  7. Layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish, followed by half the blueberries, half the cream mixture, and then half the strawberries.
  8. Repeat layering with the remaining ingredients, ensuring the top layer features the extra blueberries and optional raspberries.
  9. Garnish with mint leaves if desired, and serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
