How to Make Dutchman Burger
- Prepare Onions: Peel and slice the onion into thick rounds. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and olive oil, then sprinkle with seasoning and brown sugar. Let these sit to absorb flavors.
- Caramelize Onions: Heat a pan over medium-low heat and cook onion slices for about 10 minutes on each side until deep brown and tender.
- Season and Shape Patties: Season ground beef with Tony Chachere’s seasoning, divide into four portions, and shape into thin patties.
- Cook Patties: Increase heat to medium-high and cook patties for 2-3 minutes per side, adding cheese slices a minute before done.
- Make Special Sauce: Combine mayonnaise, relish, mustard, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Assemble Burger: Place a caramelized onion slice on a plate, add a beef patty, drizzle with special sauce, and top with another onion slice.
