  • 1/2 cup Butter softened, unsalted

  • 1/2 tsp Orange Extract adds concentrated citrus flavor
  • 1 tsp Orange Zest freshly grated
  • 1-2 drops Orange Gel Coloring optional

  • 4 cups Confectioners’ Sugar sifted

Instructions
  1. Begin by zesting a fresh orange and sifting the confectioners’ sugar to remove any lumps.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Use a spatula to mix by hand for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Carefully mix in the orange extract and the freshly grated orange zest. If desired, add the gel coloring and stir until well blended.
  4. Gradually add in the sifted confectioners’ sugar in three parts. Stir well after each addition until a thick, dough-like consistency forms.
  5. Roll the dough into ½-inch balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Gently flatten each ball with a fork.
  6. Pop the baking sheet into the refrigerator and let the mints chill for at least 1 hour.
  7. After chilling, transfer your mints to an airtight container. They can be enjoyed right away or stored for later.
