For the Topping

Equipment

  • Steamer
  • large bowl
  • heatproof mugs or ramekins

Method

How to Make Dumpling Lasagna
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, napa cabbage, green onions, minced ginger, minced garlic, thinly sliced mushrooms, sesame oil, mirin, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir until evenly blended.
  2. Lightly grease four heatproof mugs or ramekins to prevent sticking. Place a wonton wrapper at the bottom of each mug, pressing gently to fit the shape of the mug.
  3. Spoon a generous layer of the pork mixture over the wrapper, then add another wonton on top. Repeat this layering process until the mugs are filled nearly to the top.
  4. Pour approximately ⅓ cup of water into each mug to create steam, ensuring your dumpling lasagna stays moist while cooking. Finish with a final layer of wonton wrappers on top.
  5. Arrange the filled mugs in a steamer basket. Steam over medium heat for about 20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and no longer pink.
  6. Carefully remove the mugs from the steamer. Drizzle with chili crisp oil for a spicy finish, and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve hot.
