Muffin Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Combine the wet ingredients: melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients gradually, stirring until just combined.
- Prepare the streusel by combining cold butter, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon, using fingers to achieve crumbles.
- Fill each muffin cup with batter 2/3 full, then swirl in the streusel topping.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool muffins in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
