- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a wire rack in a rimmed baking sheet.
- Pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels.
- Mix the baking powder, kosher salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper in a large bowl. Toss the wings in the seasoning blend.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then flip each wing and return them to the oven for an additional 20–25 minutes.
- Warm the BBQ sauce and butter together until melted and smooth.
- Transfer the baked wings to a clean bowl and pour the warm BBQ sauce mixture over them.
- Bake again for an additional 5 minutes if you want extra sticky wings.
- Check for doneness by ensuring the internal temperature reaches between 165°F (75°C) and 190°F (88°C).
