Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the vegetables.
  2. Toss sliced mushrooms and onions in olive oil, then spread them evenly on a baking sheet. Roast for 15-20 minutes, until golden and moisture has evaporated.
  3. Generously butter both sides of your thick bread slices.
  4. Layer the roasted mushrooms and onions between two slices of Gouda and the prepared bread.
