Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the fruit by removing the top and bottom of the pineapple, slice off the rind, and cut into 3/4-1-inch spears or rings.
  2. Marinate by placing pineapple into a zip-top bag. Whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, dark rum (if using), cinnamon, and salt. Pour into the bag and toss to coat. Chill in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to a medium heat (375-400°F) to achieve perfect grill marks.
  4. Grill the pineapple for 4-6 minutes per side, brushing with excess marinade.
