How to Make Ina Garten Chicken Casserole
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion, diced carrots, and celery; sauté until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
- Sprinkle in 1/4 cup of flour and stir for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in 2 cups of chicken stock and 1 cup of heavy cream, simmering until thickened, around 5 minutes.
- Fold in 3 cups of cooked chicken, 1 cup of frozen peas, and thyme; season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
- Combine 1 cup of panko with 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 1/2 cup cheese. Sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
