Cook the Steak and Vegetables
- Sear the steak by heating 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear each side for 2–3 minutes until golden-brown.
- In the Instant Pot on sauté mode, melt the remaining butter. Add chopped onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until softened and golden, about 5 minutes.

- In a bowl, dissolve onion gravy mix in hot water. Pour this into the pot with the seared steak and close the lid.

Cooking Method
- For the Instant Pot, set to Meat/Stew and cook for 20 minutes on high. Perform a quick release of steam.
- For Crock Pot, layer sautéed vegetables, place steak on top, pour gravy mixture, and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.
- For oven baking, preheat to 350°F (175°C). Sear steak, sauté vegetables, transfer to a Dutch oven, and bake for 2 to 2.5 hours until fork-tender.

Serve
- After cooking, rest for 5 minutes. Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or biscuits, with gravy poured generously.
- Optional: Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or thyme.
