Method

Marinating and Cooking
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, Chinese 5-spice powder, rice vinegar, oyster sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Place your pork tenderloin or shoulder into a resealable bag or container, then pour the marinade over the meat. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Remove the pork from the marinade and let any excess drip off, placing it on the rack.
  5. Cook the pork in the oven for 20 minutes.
  6. After 20 minutes, brush a basting sauce made from honey, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce over the pork.
  7. Continue roasting for an additional 10-15 minutes until the pork is caramelized and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  8. Switch to broil mode and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes for charred edges.
  9. Let the pork rest for about 10 minutes, then slice and enjoy.
