  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Gluten-free puff pastry can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 large Beaten Egg No substitutions necessary.
For the Filling
  • 8 slices Deli Ham Replace with grilled vegetables for a vegetarian version.
  • 1 cup Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese Gouda or Pepper Jack can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard Yellow mustard can be used for a milder flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Optional for added freshness.
  • to taste Salt Essential for balancing flavors.
  • to taste Pepper Essential for balancing flavors.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ⅛ inch thick.
  3. Cut the rolled pastry into rectangles that measure approximately 3 by 5 inches.
  4. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on one half of each rectangle.
  5. Layer deli ham and cheese on top of the mustard; add fresh parsley if desired.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and seal the edges tightly.
  7. Place the assembled sticks on the baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is puffy and golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
