  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Can be omitted if undesired.
  • 1 cup Irish Cheddar Cheese (Shredded) A sharp or mild cheddar can be used based on preference.

Equipment

  • 9x5-inch loaf pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • small saucepan
  • whisk
  • Spatula

Method

Steps to Make
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This initial step sets the stage for that golden crust we all love.
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan and brush some inside your 9x5-inch loaf pan. Reserve the rest for later.
  3. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
  4. Mix in the shredded Irish cheddar cheese, then create a well in the center of the mixture. Pour in the Irish beer, gently stirring until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top evenly with a spatula.
  6. Pour the remaining melted butter evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  8. Prepare the garlic butter topping by melting 2 tablespoons of butter, stirring in chopped parsley, garlic powder, and salt.
  9. Brush the freshly baked bread with the garlic butter immediately after taking it out of the oven.
  10. Cool the bread in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
