Steps to Make
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This initial step sets the stage for that golden crust we all love.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan and brush some inside your 9x5-inch loaf pan. Reserve the rest for later.
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder in a mixing bowl. Whisk until well mixed.
- Mix in the shredded Irish cheddar cheese, then create a well in the center of the mixture. Pour in the Irish beer, gently stirring until just combined.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top evenly with a spatula.
- Pour the remaining melted butter evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Prepare the garlic butter topping by melting 2 tablespoons of butter, stirring in chopped parsley, garlic powder, and salt.
- Brush the freshly baked bread with the garlic butter immediately after taking it out of the oven.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
