- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the diced onion and sauté until soft, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add the marinara sauce, crumbled bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes, then set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly golden. Slowly whisk in the milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in grated Parmesan and garlic powder, then season with salt and pepper before removing from heat.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13” baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce. Top with cooked lasagna noodles, then add a layer of béchamel, mozzarella, and cheddar. Repeat these layers, finishing with a top layer of cheese, generously sprinkled with additional Parmesan.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes, or until it’s bubbling and golden on top. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to let the layers set.
- Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch, if desired.
