  3. In a large bowl, beat together 1 cup softened unsalted butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Beat in 1 large egg, 1 large egg yolk, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon red food coloring, and 1/2 teaspoon vinegar until mixture is smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until no lumps remain.
