Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan with foil or parchment paper, greasing the surface.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar and hot melted butter in a large mixing bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, water, and vanilla extract and whisk until well combined and frothy.
  4. Sprinkle the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, flour, and kosher salt over the mixture. Stir gently and then fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 28-33 minutes for an 8x8 pan, or 18-23 minutes for a 9x9 pan. A toothpick should come out with moist fudgy crumbs.
  6. Cool the brownies on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
