Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it ready for baking your delicious casserole.
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Sear them in olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Caramelize sliced onions in the same skillet by melting butter for about 5 minutes. Stir in fresh garlic and let it cook for another minute.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, then gradually stir in milk, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Cook until thickened and season to taste.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the skillet, pour half of the creamy sauce over them, and sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Place the seared pork chops on top and cover with foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes covered, then uncover and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until tender and golden.
- Rest the casserole for 10 minutes before serving; garnish with fresh parsley.
