Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare it for baking.
- In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up. Cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, sautéed sausage and garlic, grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Take each cleaned calamari tube and carefully fill with the stuffing mixture, packing it tightly but leaving the ends open. Secure with toothpicks.
- Place the stuffed calamari in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the top, covering each piece. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until tender and the sauce is bubbling.
- Once ready, let the calamari rest for a few minutes. Serve with lemon wedges.
