How to Make Sugar Cookie Cups
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two muffin pans with nonstick spray.
- Cream together the softened salted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the large egg along with the vanilla and almond extracts. Beat until fully combined.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a separate bowl.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Press about 2 tablespoons of cookie dough into each muffin cup, pressing up the sides.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before removing.
- Once cooled, use the back of a tablespoon to shape the centers into deeper cups.
- Make the frosting by beating softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
- Pipe or spoon the cream cheese frosting into each cookie cup. Add sprinkles if desired.
