  • 2 cloves Garlic minced or roasted
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour use cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 1 cup Chicken Stock homemade or low-sodium preferred
  • ¼ cup Fresh Lemon Juice or lime juice for a twist
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Zest use a microplane for finest zest
For the Garnish
  • ¼ cup Chopped Fresh Basil or dried basil, use less
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

Method
 

How to Make Lemon Basil Chicken
  1. Flatten the Chicken by gently pounding each breast until even thickness and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Cook Chicken in a skillet with butter over medium heat for 4-5 minutes each side until lightly browned.
  3. Make Sauce by melting remaining butter, adding garlic, and whisking in flour until well combined.
  4. Add Liquid by pouring in chicken stock and lemon juice, stirring continuously, then add lemon zest.
  5. Simmer Chicken in the sauce for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Finishing Touches: Sprinkle with basil, adjust seasonings, and serve immediately.
