Preparation
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes.
- Place shrimp in a bowl, ensuring they are peeled and deveined.
- Blend olive oil, garlic, jalapeno, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, kosher salt, and black pepper in a bowl until smooth.
- Pour the marinade over the shrimp, stir to coat, and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
- Optionally drizzle tequila over shrimp before marinating.
- Thread marinated shrimp onto skewers, adding lime slices in between.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill skewers for 3-4 minutes per side until shrimp are opaque.
- Serve arranged on a platter with cilantro and lime wedges.
