How to Make Mouthwatering Baked French Onion Gnocchi
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté for about 20-25 minutes until they are deeply caramelized and golden brown.
  3. Pour in your choice of broth and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions until they float, usually about 2-3 minutes. Gently fold the cooked gnocchi into the onion mixture.
  6. Transfer the gnocchi and onion mixture to a baking dish, spread out evenly and top generously with grated Gruyere cheese.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh thyme once it’s out of the oven and serve warm.
