For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup Melted Butter Brush on baked biscuits.
  • 1 cup Glaze Mixture Combine powdered sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F while you prepare the dough.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and powdered sugar in a large bowl.
  4. Cut in the butter and shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Fold in the diced peaches until they’re well-coated.
  6. Stir in the cold buttermilk gently until a soft, sticky dough forms.
  7. Sprinkle flour on a clean surface, then transfer the dough there. Knead gently, adding flour as needed.
  8. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Fold it in thirds and repeat 2-3 times.
  9. Cut out biscuits with a floured cutter and place them on the baking sheet.
  10. Refrigerate them for 20 minutes.
  11. Brush the tops with the egg wash before baking for around 18 minutes.
  12. Prepare the glaze while biscuits bake.
  13. Brush the warm baked biscuits with melted butter and drizzle with glaze once cooled.
