How to Make Pan-Seared Cod with Garlic Cream Sauce
  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. Season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil, heating until it shimmers.
  3. Carefully lay the seasoned cod fillets in the skillet; cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping up any browned bits and let it simmer for a minute.
  6. Lower the heat and whisk in the heavy cream gradually, stirring until combined.
  7. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes and adjust seasonings to taste.
  8. Return the seared cod to the skillet, spooning the garlic cream sauce over it and heat for an additional 2 minutes.
  9. Just before serving, sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish.
  10. Plate the cod with the creamy sauce drizzled around it, and serve with lemon wedges.
