How to Make Pan-Seared Cod with Garlic Cream Sauce
- Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. Season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil, heating until it shimmers.
- Carefully lay the seasoned cod fillets in the skillet; cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping up any browned bits and let it simmer for a minute.
- Lower the heat and whisk in the heavy cream gradually, stirring until combined.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes and adjust seasonings to taste.
- Return the seared cod to the skillet, spooning the garlic cream sauce over it and heat for an additional 2 minutes.
- Just before serving, sprinkle fresh parsley over the dish.
- Plate the cod with the creamy sauce drizzled around it, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes
Fresh cod fillets are recommended for the best flavor. Be mindful not to overcook the fish.
