  • 4 tablespoons butter or olive oil for a lighter variation
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh or bottled
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt sea salt recommended
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 teaspoon paprika smoked paprika optional
For Garnish
  • fresh parsley or cilantro optional but recommended

Preparation Steps
  1. Clean the calamari, removing heads, tentacles, and innards, then slice the bodies into rings. Pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure they cook evenly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly, making sure not to let it brown. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic to the melted butter, stirring frequently until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Gently toss the calamari rings into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque and tender.
  5. Remove from heat, drizzle with lemon juice, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Toss gently.
  6. Plate the calamari and sprinkle fresh parsley or cilantro on top. Serve hot.
