Method
 

How to Make Savory Shrimp Dirty Rice
  1. In a large skillet, warm up a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil if needed, then brown the ground pork sausage for approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Toss in the diced onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in the rice and toast it for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Carefully add the chicken broth to the skillet and bring it to a boil.
  8. Once boiling, reduce heat, cover the skillet, and let simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  9. Gently fold in the cooked shrimp and chopped parsley into the rice.
  10. Serve the shrimp dirty rice hot, with optional hot sauce on the side.
