How to Make Sizzling Mongolian
- Start by slicing the beef (or chicken/tofu) thinly, if not pre-sliced. Chop the green onions into two-inch pieces for a vibrant garnish later.
- Coat the sliced beef with cornstarch and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, and optional hoisin sauce. Whisk until smooth.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Sauté minced garlic and freshly grated ginger until fragrant.
- Add the marinated beef in a single layer to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring, then flip and cook through.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and add the green onions. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
