  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be used if needed.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Can be omitted or substituted with cayenne.
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth Vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half or coconut cream can be alternatives.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated pecorino or nutritional yeast as substitutes.
  • to taste Salt

For the Finish
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Basil can be used instead.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the sausage by melting butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage, cooking until browned (about 5–7 minutes).
  3. Add minced garlic, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for another 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and allow it to reduce slightly, about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, lowering the heat to allow them to melt and combine.
  6. Mix in the cooked penne pasta, ensuring it's well-coated with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
