Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Combine torn Sweet Hawaiian rolls and optional crushed pineapples in a bowl, then spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Whisk the large eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until frothy.
- Pour the custard mixture over the rolls, pressing down gently to ensure every piece of bread is soaked.
- Cover with foil and let soak for at least 20 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate overnight.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh strawberries.
