  • 4 pieces croissants Use slightly aged croissants for better slicing.
  • 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough Homemade or store-bought with a sprinkle of sea salt.
  • 100 grams dark chocolate Opt for chocolate with 60% cocoa solids or higher.
  • powdered sugar icing sugar Dusted on top for a sweet finishing touch.

Method
 

How to Make the Crookie
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
  2. Slice carefully through the croissants lengthways, but don't cut all the way through.
  3. Allow the cookie dough to come to room temperature, then slice pieces and stuff them into the croissants.
  4. Insert pieces of dark chocolate into the croissants.
  5. Bake the stuffed croissants in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Drizzle the remaining melted dark chocolate over your crookies once they’re baked.
  7. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
