How to Make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and your choice of spice in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until pale and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the old-fashioned oats and raisins gently until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop your cookie dough using a cookie scoop onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each mound.
  8. Bake the cookies for 12–14 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  9. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
