How to Make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and your choice of spice in a medium bowl.
- Beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until pale and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the old-fashioned oats and raisins gently until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop your cookie dough using a cookie scoop onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each mound.
- Bake the cookies for 12–14 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
- Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
